From the development of the first African American urban renewal community in Atlanta to the preservation of nature and history in the once-rural John’s Creek area of Alpharetta, Fulton County is filled with a variety of seldom-heard stories that portray colorful images of local history, cultural diversity, and social progress. In an effort to start sharing these stories, five community organizations have partnered with People TV’s Office of Community Development to produce a feature-length documentary entitled Sidewalk Stories. Supported by grants from Fulton County Arts Council, Georgia Council for the Arts, and the Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs, Sidewalk Stories features five unique community perspectives that together show what love, determination and time has done to preserve history and culture throughout Fulton County.
